Roadway Updates

According to Georgia DOT’s project visualization website, the proposed SR 400 Express Lanes project will construct express lanes on an approximately 16-mile section of SR 400 from the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) North Springs Station (Exit 5C) in Fulton County to approximately 0.9 miles north of McFarland Parkway (Exit 12) in Forsyth County.

The project focuses on adding two, buffer-separated express lanes in each direction between the MARTA North Springs Station and McGinnis Ferry Road. Additionally, one buffer-separated express lane is planned to be constructed in each direction from McGinnis Ferry Road to McFarland Parkway. Georgia DOT started a new P3 private revenue procurement process in 2022. The private sector partner will design, construct, finance, operate, and maintain the express lanes in exchange for future toll revenue. The SR 400 Express Lanes will be part of the larger Georgia Express Lanes Network, designed to provide a connected transportation network with reliable trip times for motorists and transit users.
